hi! i’m ruth.
well, that’s what i’m called on my blog.
Years ago, my husband and I saw a funny Shark Week documentary video where a scientific crew tagged a shark to learn her habits. They named the shark “Ruth, short for Ruthless,” and we both agreed that of the people we know, I can be pretty ruthless! Ruth became my unofficial nickname and my secret alter ego. Whenever I want to tell the truth, stand up and speak my mind, or really go for something, I am 100% Ruth.
I am a thirty-something-year-old librarian, wife, and mama. I have been working in libraries for over 10 years and have read hundreds of books (and probably recommended just as many). I run a successful book club and have created library programming for all ages that regularly reached turn-away-level attendance. I want to help you do the same with:
honest book reviews
thought-provoking questions written by someone who actually reads the book
group-read book recommendations for you
title read-alikes for your club members so they can continue their reading journey solo
Because let’s face it, not all books are good books, and many good books are not good book club books. Sound a little ruthless? Maybe… but follow along, and I promise you’ll find a title worth reading!
